چکیده

A method for identification of stellar complexes in M 33 is applied. Several OB associations form a stellar complex with mean size of 0.3-1 kpc. We apply a correlation technique to compare different stellar populations in M 33. Our results confirm the existence of a strong correlation between OB stars, H II regions and WR stars, which trace the regions of massive star formation. There is a good correlation between red supergiants (RSGs) and WR stars in the spiral arms of M 33. This can be expected since the progenitors of WR stars are massive OB stars or RSGs with masses M ≥ 20M⊙. The massive RSGs and WR stars probably originate from nearby sites of star formation. We consider this fact as a ground for identification of stellar complexes in M 33. The presented method for identification of stellar complexes can be applied to other nearby galaxies.

Stellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups

It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...

Young massive stellar populations in M 33

In this paper we estimate the ratio OB stars to red supergiants (OB/R) as a function of the distance from the centre of M 33. We found a gradient of the ratio (OB/R) really exists. Our study is based on a new approach in estimating the errors on the ratio (OB/R). On the other hand, by applying a new correlation technique between OB star candidates and red supergiant candidates in the central re...

THE EFFECT OF COSMIONS ON THE STABILITY OF MAIN SEQUENCE STELLAR CORES

We have studied the effect of hypothetical Cosmions on the core stability of main sequence stars (of populations I and II). Cosmions, with a mass of 4-10 Gev/c2 and a scattering cross section with nucleons of approximately 10-36 cm2 could prevail in transporting heat in the stellar cores. Raby [17] showed the existence of a local thermal instability caused by the presence of Cosmions in the sol...

The Geometry of Karbandi in Persian Architecture; Response to the Challenges of Conventional and Stellar Karbandi

Karbandi is one of the original and ancient arched elements in Persian architecture which is formed based on a network with harmonic geometry and in addition to architectural function, it also has structural behavior. However, there are ambiguities about the geometry of this architectural element that should be addressed with targeted research. One of these ambiguities is to determine how the g...

Evaluation of Essential Oil Yield, Morphological and Phenological Traits in Some Populations of Two Chamomile Species (Matricaria recutita and M. aurea)

Evaluation of essential oil yield, morphological and phenological traits of seven populations of twoChamomilespecies )Matricaria aurea and M. recutita), were carried out using Randomized Completely Blocks Design (RCBD) in three replications in Alborz research station in Karaj, Iran during 2011-2012. Data were collected for 12 morphological and phenological traits. Analysis of variance showed si...
